Pack Fun - Memorial Day Parade

Pack 3371 will be marching in the 2011 Lafayette Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30th. Wear your uniforms! We need to line up at 11:00 or a little later; the parade starts at noon, and should be over about 1 PM. The Memorial Day ceremony at Memorial Island in Columbian Park begins immediately after the parade. Scouts are welcome to stay for this ceremony, but are not required to do so. Parents, if your boy wants to stay for the ceremony, you will need to pick him up from the Pack and stay with him.

We meet to line up for the parade at the corner of Alabama and 16th in Lafayette; that's in a residential area behind Bar Barry Liquors. (See map below.) There is no designated parking area for parade participants; just find a parking place in the local streets. Note that the parade ends in Columbian park, so finding a parking place between the starting point and the park will make returning to your car easier.

The 11 AM lineup time means we'll be lining up during the normal lunch hour, so families are encouraged to bring snacks and/or lunch for themselves and their scouts. Families are not required to march with their scouts, although you are welcome to do so. Families are required to pick their boys up promptly at the end of the parade in Columbian Park; please be there on time! Last year we finished up along Crescent Drive, between the pond and the playground area, so look for your boys there if you do not march with us.
