God and Country Programs

God and Me Medal God and Family Medal

Thank you for your interest in the God and Country programs. This page is intended to provide you with information about the programs and help answer your questions. We want to stress that these programs are voluntary and not required. It is being offering to the scouts in addition to the den activities and monthly fun events. The God and Country programs are the Protestant version of the Religious Emblems Programs of the Boy Scouts of America, which are available for all faiths. For more information, see the BSA's list of Frequently Asked Questions about the Religious Emblems Programs.

We are pleased to announce that the Pack will be offering the God and Country program again this summer (summer 2010)!

Character development is very important in Cub Scouting. Leaders help develop scouts' character through teaching the twelve core values. One of Cub Scouting's core values is Faith, and these programs touch upon that specific one. During the summer of 2009, our former Cubmaster, Doug Poad, will be holding one of the God and County programs.

There are two God and Country programs available to Cub Scouts: God and Me and God and Family. The God and Me program is for 1st through 3rd graders while the God and Family program is for 4th and 5th graders. General information about these two programs (and the programs for older boys) are available in this file. A general presentation on the program was given at the April pack meeting.

Which program will be held this summer? It will be the God and Me program, fir 1st through 3rd graders. If you are interested in the program, the journey starts with a commitment by the scout. For this first step, the scout earns a Duty to God Patch. Please let Doug know if you are interested. The Pack will purchase all of the necessary materials for the program.

if you have questions about the program, please contact Doug via email at doug.poad@pack3371.com. If you wish to sign up, email Doug By May 19th.
